Let the Adventure Begin..

Welcome to raisingresco!

December 2, 2019 is when it all started. Rayden and I had been talking for about two months and he had just asked me to be his girlfriend!! I, of course, said yes!!! We had known each other through mutual friends, as we had both attended the same college, so it was easy getting to know him quickly! We talked about our shared love for traveling, watching football, and food! We were soon very smitten with each other!

Fast forward to early February and we found out that we were expecting a little boy come October! This was SO unexpected, but someone once told me “a baby is a blessing, no matter when he/she arrives..” and that really helped me to put everyone else’s opinions behind me and get excited! We decided that we wouldn’t dwell on the fact that this was happening so early in our relationship, and we would instead use this news to help us grow even closer together and learn more about one another!

Fast forward another month to March 2020. COVID-19 hit the United States HARD and many schools were shutting their doors to keep their students, staff, and communities as safe as possible. I was a para-educator at the time so I was left jobless and not really knowing what to do next. Rayden decided to ask me to come travel with him while he moved about Texas building Wind Turbine projects. Of course I said yes!!!! So I left behind my home in the care of my parents, who checked on it often, and moved into a 5th wheel camper for a minimalistic living style for the next four months.

We continued to travel up until July 31st, 2020, two and a half months before our little babe was due to arrive. There was a Wind Turbine project starting about an hour from my house and we decided that moving home would be our best option for when we had the baby! So with the help of my amazing parents, we got my house all ready for baby’s arrival!!

Fast forward to August 2020. School can reopen. (YAY!!) I decided to work as a substitute teacher, until baby arrived, at the school I worked as a para-educator at, before COVID-19 shut it down for the remainder of the year. We had just started preparing the nursery and I was beginning to gather supplies to create my hospital bag for that moment when we need to grab it and dash out the door!

Little did I know how quickly this would all change…
